CHELSEA MARKET x RETHINK FOOD
In partnership with Chelsea Market, Rethink Food is bringing sustainable meals to communities impacted by food insecurity across all five boroughs.
Rethink Food exists to bridge the gap between excess food and the communities that need it. We partner with restaurants, food purveyors, and donors to deliver 40,000+ nutritious, culturally celebrated meals per week—at no cost to communities.
Each week, Chelsea Market donates their excess food to our sustainable commissary kitchen. Here, our team of chefs transforms this product into nutritious, delicious meals for New Yorkers impacted by food insecurity.
THE PROCESS
Food purveyors, restaurants and retailers at Chelsea Market save their viable excess food items, including produce, prepared food, and packaged goods that they couldn’t sell.
The Rethink Food trucking team visits Chelsea Market every week to collect donated items.
These goods are safely transported back to our sustainable commissary kitchen, where they’re transformed into nutritious, delicious meals for New Yorkers impacted by food insecurity.
The Result? Chelsea Market reduces their food waste, while supporting communities across New York in need of a nutritious meal.
